Questions About Shipping?

It’s that time of year! With so many customers enjoying shopping online for the holiday season, we have seen some longer delivery times by our shipping partners which may delay your order from being shipped the same day.

When will my order ship?

We are making every effort to get your order out 1 – 3 days after your order is placed. Orders placed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will ship out on the following Monday or Tuesday if all goes to plan. We do not ship on holidays. Some items, like MEGA bag of maple popcorn, are made to order and will added to our next production date and shipped the following business day.

How long will it take to get my order?

This method is usually 1 – 3 days in transit, but unfortunately it is not guaranteed and can take longer due to volumes. If you need an order to be shipped USPS Express or UPS Express, please choose the more expensive option at checkout and write in the notes “EXPRESS SHIPPING – [date you need it delivered by]” If we have concerns about the timeline, we will be in touch.

Is it safe to ship syrup in glass?
Please note that we do ship glass bottles and sometimes accidents happen. We do our very best to package your syrup so that it travels safely to your door, but if you notice that your package has been received damaged or broken, please reach out to as soon as possible. We will work with you to come up with a solution to replace your items in a timely and cost-effective fashion.

I have questions about my tracking number, who do I contact?
If you notice an issue while tracking your package – i.e. your order was deemed undeliverable, it says delivered but you can’t find it or it has been delayed – please contact your local USPS office or UPS. If your address was entered incorrectly or you have an issue with deliveries at your address, we cannot change this after your shipping label has been printed. If you notice your shipping address has been entered incorrectly, please email us asap to correct the issue. Please confirm the shipping address (or that of your gift recipient) before ordering. Unfortunately, we do not have the bandwidth to hunt down delayed packages or undeliverable packages after they have left our marketplace. If we receive a package back to us, we will contact you about next steps. As a small business, we are not able to cover extra shipping fees.

Is that really the cost to ship?!
Speaking of shipping fees! Our website uses a “Live Rate” shipping calculator to estimate the total weight, size dimensions and the zip code your order to determine the cost to ship. Sometimes it is right on (down the the penny!) and other times – for whatever technological reason – it is way out of wack. If you ever notice what seems like an outrageous amount being charged for shipping here is what you should know:

  1. Shipping charges have gone up significantly across all carriers. Gone are the days of a parcel being shipped for $8. The average cost of a parcel that has dimensions of 1sqft or less is $16.10…we know. It’s expensive!
  2.  Monthly we go through our orders to reconcile, and if we ever notice that you overpaid on the shipping we will refund the shipping difference back to your card. We’re a small business and we know that kind of diligence in our customer service goes a long way! So, if you’re concerned you overpaid, don’t hesitate to check with us (or check your card balance) as you may see a return of funds for the difference.
  3. If you ever have concerns with paying for the amount of shipping quoted, please do not hesitate to reach out! Our contact information is at the bottom of every webpage and we would be happy to help you place your order via email or over the phone if you prefer. We never want you to go without your Stewart Maple products over a shipping miscalculation!

Shipping is a big expense on our family business, but a necessary part of being able to share our regionally made products across the nation. Many have asked why isn’t shipping just free? To us, shipping shouldn’t ever be free. It’s bad for the planet, it’s bad for small business, and honestly, it’s just not possible for us at this time. We know that free shipping is a big deal, and we’ve toyed with the idea for a long time – but we’d prefer to have you understand the effort/time/supplies that go into getting that item to your door.
